As the NHL offseason continues to chug along, fans browse social media looking for the latest news or rankings to debate while waiting for Opening Night. On Sunday, the NHL Network released its Top 20 right-wing rankings, which featured three Florida Panthers players: Matthew Tkachuk (8th), Sam Reinhart (14th), and Brady Tkachuk (18th).
When healthy, Matthew is one of the game’s top wingers, with two 100-point campaigns on his resume. Moreover, he’s a two-time Stanley Cup winner who altered the direction of the Panthers franchise when he came to town via a trade in 2022. Not only was it a life-altering trade for the former 40-goal scorer, but he’s grown to one of the NHL’s most hated players. Whether it’s fans disliking his hockey skills, his ability to get under opponents’ skins, or bragging about Team USA’s recent run of successes on his podcast, there’s no denying that Tkachuk is a household name across the country.
Matthew missed a significant portion of the 2025-26 season because of injury, but he still managed a more than point-per-game average with 34 points in 31 games. Although he hasn’t come close to his early successes in Florida with 109- and 88-point seasons, Tkachuk also hasn’t played a full season since 2023-24, with extended postseason runs taking a toll on his health.
Sliding into the 14th spot is former 50-goal scorer Reinhart, who led the Panthers in goals (29) and points (61) last year, the first time since the 2021-22 season the team’s leading scorer failed to reach at least 70 points. Just like so many other teammates, Reinhart played only 64 games but produced the team’s worst plus/minus total at minus-18. Ultimately, that’s not a knock on him; it was just a rough season for the Panthers last season from top to bottom. His totals get a lot of attention because he ended up the leading scorer.
Finally, one of the newest members in the Panthers lineup, Brady, finds himself among the Top 20 wingers in the league, as he usually is every season. As the former captain of the Ottawa Senators, he’s about to play with his older brother Matthew for the first time and will bring an edge to the Florida lineup. Previously, the club was difficult to play against, but with Brady joining Sam Bennett, Radko Gudas, and Garnet Hathaway, it is going to be a fun season. Last year, on a playoff-bound Senators club, Brady finished with 59 points in 60 games, good enough for fourth in team scoring, collecting his fifth consecutive season of at least 22 goals.
Considering the Panthers are Stanley Cup contenders with an All-Star-level lineup, it is not surprising to see them heavily represented on the list; the only team with three players selected.
