After seven years, two children, two Stanley Cups, and countless memories, the Bobrovsky family is saying goodbye to Florida, which became their home.
If you still haven’t gotten used to the fact that Sergei Bobrovsky is a Maple Leaf now, it may finally be time to move on.
The wife of the two-time Vezina Trophy winner, Olga Bobrovsky, made the change feel a little more real this week, saying an emotional goodbye to Florida - a place the Bobrovsky family called home for seven unforgettable years.
“Goodbye, Florida, goodbye to our wonderful home,” she wrote on social media. “Seven years of a contract, two children, two Cups, quarantine in a house by the pool, our friends’ impromptu wedding, countless gatherings, and happy moments. It’s time to move on!”
Her farewell wasn’t just about hockey. It was about a life built in South Florida.
Among the memories Olga shared were a Miami Dolphins game with her husband, the matching team-logo caps; time spent with close friends Artemi and Alisa Panarin; a snapshot from a rain-soaked Stanley Cup parade; and, finally, perhaps the most fitting image of all - Sergei at their family home, hugging the Stanley Cup.
For Bobrovsky, Florida became the setting for the defining chapter of his remarkable career. He arrived in 2019 and helped transform the Panthers into a dangerous team and playoff contender, leading Florida to three consecutive Stanley Cup Final appearances and championships in 2024 and 2025.
But Olga’s farewell showed what seven years meant beyond wins, saves, and trophies. Florida was where their family grew, where friendships were made and where some of the biggest moments of their lives unfolded. And while saying goodbye is bittersweet, she seems ready for what comes next.
In a different post, Mrs. Bob wrote about her love for fall and her excitement for golden leaves and foggy mornings - a very different backdrop from palm trees and South Florida sunshine. Perhaps winter won’t be such a shock, either: both Sergei and Olga were born in Siberia.

The post quickly drew affectionate responses from hockey fans and members of the Panthers, including players’ wives saying how much they'll miss the Bobrovskys. Another interesting fact is their Florida home was always open to fellow Russian NHL players and their families - whether for cozy dinners, celebrations or simply a place to stay.
Seven years. Two children. Two Stanley Cups.
