Sergei Bobrovsky is a free agent effective July 1. If the Florida Panthers are unable to agree to a new deal with one of the franchise’s best goaltenders, this summer could mark the end of an era in South Florida.

On July 19, 2019, the then-31-year-old two-time Vezina Trophy winner left the Columbus Blue Jackets and joined the Panthers. After collecting back-to-back 37-win seasons, he only managed to collect 42 over the next two shortened NHL campaigns. However, Bobrovsky would set a franchise record with 39 wins in 2021-22 before leading Florida to the first of their three straight Stanley Cup Final appearances beginning in 2022-23.
As the only netminder to lift the Stanley Cup with the Panthers, Bobrovsky’s name is all over the team’s record book. Moreover, there’s no denying that he is the most successful puckstopper, who may or may not break all of Roberto Luongo’s team records.
Considering that Luongo is the only goalie with his number retired, he’ll eventually be joined by Bobrovsky, who has overtaken several of his team records. Today, we take a look at which Panthers’ records Bobrovsky owns.
Career Win Percentage (.575%)
Only eight Florida netminders have skated in more than 100 games with the club, with Luongo leading the pack with 572. However, he produced only a 230-241-32 record, which equaled a .402 winning percentage.
Meanwhile, Bobrovsky is 201-113-21 in just 349 games, giving him an eye-popping .575 win percentage after seven seasons. As of 2026, he remains the only goalie to win more than 50% of his games while dressing in more than 100.
Other goalies on this list include: James Reimer (.430), Tomas Vokoun (.407), Luongo (.402), John Vanbiesbrouck (.395), Mark Fitzpatrick (.361), Scott Clemmensen (.333), and Trevor Kidd (.271).
Single Season Win Total (39)
As mentioned, Bobrovsky set the franchise single-season win record in 2021-22, collecting 39 victories in 54 games. He surpassed Luongo’s record of 35, set in 2005-06 and matched again in 2015-16.

Not only did Bobrovsky claim the record for himself, but he led the NHL in wins with a 39-7-3 record, .913 SV%, and 2.67 GAA, finishing third in Vezina Trophy voting. Two seasons later, when the Panthers captured their first Stanley Cup in 2023-24, he had a 36-17-4 record, becoming the only netminder in franchise history to win more than 35 games twice.
Career Playoff Games (83)
Since Bobrovsky joined the Panthers in the summer of 2019, the franchise has advanced to the Stanley Cup playoffs every season except 2025-26. Before his arrival, Florida had appeared in the playoffs just four times between 1995-96 and 2018-19, meaning their goalies didn’t have many opportunities to play postseason hockey.
Thanks to a magical run to the 1996 Stanley Cup Final, Vanbiesbrouck was the only netminder to play more than six playoff games, going 13-14-0 in his short Panthers career. After six postseason runs, including three trips to the Final, Bobrovsky has set an almost insurmountable games-played total of 83.
Unless the Panthers find a new goalie and go on another successful run like the 2023 to 2025 teams, it may take a long time before we see someone play that much hockey in the spring.
Career Playoff Wins (50)
If this is the end of the Bobrovsky era in Florida, he went out with exactly 50 playoff career wins, almost four times the next total on the list, 13, by Vanbriesbrouck. However, he didn’t get to that total overnight.
In his first playoff appearance with the Panthers, Bobrovsky went 1-3 in 2019-20. He followed that up with a 1-3 performance in 2020-21 and a 4-6 record in 2021-22. Then, Florida loaded up their lineup and found their mojo, going to the Stanley Cup Final with Bobrovsky going 12-6. During their championship runs, he went 16-8 and 16-7.
Career Playoff Shutouts (Six)
Prior to Bobrovsky relocating to South Florida, only two netminders recorded a playoff shutout for the Panthers: Vanbiesbrouck (two) and Jose Theodore. Interestingly, during his time with the Blue Jackets and Philadelphia Flyers, he never recorded a playoff shutout, picking up his first on May 20, 2021.
He added another one during the 2023 playoffs, before collecting two more in 2024, including Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final. While leading the Panthers to back-to-back championships, Bobrovsky pitched a shutout in each of the first three playoff series against Tampa Bay, Toronto, and Carolina in 2025.
