Mads Kongsbak Klyvø became one of my favourite mid-round prospects for this year's draft, but only after some hype from our Swedish scouts at McKeen's, Felix Robbins (@RVBScouting) & Viktor Åhlund

The Florida Panthers had to wait long to make their first selection of the 2025 NHL Draft. Bill Zito and the front office didn't have a pick in either of the draft's first three rounds. Florida found themselves on the clock for the first time in the fourth round, as they owned the 112th pick of the Draft. Florida decided to use the choice on a winger from the Swedish ranks, Mads Kongsbak Klyvø.
The 18-year-old forward is from Denmark. Klyvø is part of Panthers' history, as he is the first player that the Panthers have drafted who is from Denmark. The young skater was mostly unknown by many coming into the Draft, but still found himself on some big boards. EliteProspects had him ranked as the 98th best prospect in the Draft.

NHL Central Scouting had Klyvo ranked as the 37th-best European skater. In the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons, the winger played under the Frederikshavn White Hawks organization. He mostly spent time with the U17 and U20 squads and had a short-lived appearance with the top club, even getting some playoff experience.
In the 2023-24 season, he left his homeland and took his career to Sweden. He has spent the last couple of years with Frolunda, and he's played with the J18 and J20 teams in the junior Nationell league. This past season saw Klyvø score 14 goals and add 15 assists for 29 points for Frolunda's J20 team.
Klyvø also saw time with the Denmark National Team during the World Junior Championships, and he had his moments there as well. When it comes to his game, expect Klyvø to fit the mold of Sam Bennett. He is a big forward, coming in at six feet two, 194 pounds. Although he has a long way to go, he has the tools to be the quintessential power forward in the NHL.
The Danish product is a good skater. He's hard to knock off balance and can speed his way through the ice at any given moment. He can make a difference on the forecheck and backcheck, which is great for a player selected at this point. Other than his skating, another aspect to his game that stands out is his offense.
When looking at his film, you will notice that Klyvø possesses an extremely hard shot. When he makes his eventual move to North America, fans can expect to see goalies give up plenty of rebounds because of how hard he shoots the puck. He's smart, as he can get to any area of the ice that'll give him the best chance to score off a one-timer.
Mads has a good set of hands and can get through most creases that the defense allows him. He has a good set of moves and the shiftiness needed to get through the neutral zone. Because of his abilities, he's expected to be a quality winger who can score and hit if he makes it to the NHL level. He can cause havoc and both ends and make a difference in games if he is fully developed.
