For the sixth time in NHL history, all 32 teams will play on the same night, with 16 games on Tuesday. The fourth annual “Frozen Frenzy” kicks off at 6:00 p.m. ET, with games starting every 15 minutes through 9:00 p.m., then three more matchups before the final puck drop at 11:00 p.m. The action begins with the New Jersey Devils visiting the Detroit Red Wings, followed 15 minutes later by the Florida Panthers facing the Columbus Blue Jackets. Five hours later, the last game features the Boston Bruins facing the Sharks in San Jose.

With a 2-2-2 record through six games, the Panthers will look to end a two-game losing streak after dropping their home opener on Saturday to the Minnesota Wild and losing Monday afternoon to the Buffalo Sabres. The Cats are currently without captain Aleksander Barkov and Brad Marchand, but received encouraging news regarding Jacob Markström.

Although the veteran goaltender left Monday's contest after the first period because something had "tightened up," head coach Paul Maurice confirmed there was no injury, describing the issue as "standard stuff." In four games, Columbus has alternated wins and losses, most recently falling to the St. Louis Blues on Saturday.

After the Panthers and Blue Jackets puck drop, Florida’s most recent opponent, the Sabres, will face the Canadiens in Montreal at 6:30. Meanwhile, Alex Ovechkin, who just scored his 930th goal, will be in Raleigh for his first clash with the reigning Stanley Cup champion Carolina Hurricanes.

Other intriguing games on the NHL slate is the Seattle Kraken visiting the Philadelphia Flyers as the Flyers look to pick up their first win of the season. Later in the night, the Calgary Flames, who haven’t picked up a point yet this year, will look for revenge against the Anaheim Ducks.

ESPN will broadcast a triple-header that begins with the Devils and Red Wings, then moves to a huge Central Division tilt as the Colorado Avalanche visit the Dallas Stars, with the nightcap featuring the Bruins and Sharks. ESPN2, Disney+, and the ESPN app will also carry the rest of the games.

Canadians and Sportsnet+ subscribers will see the three ESPN broadcasts, plus regional coverage of the Canadiens (TSN2, RDS), Ottawa Senators (TSN5, RDS1), Toronto Maple Leafs (TSN4), Winnipeg Jets (TSN3), Flames (SNW), Edmonton Oilers (SN1), and Vancouver Canucks (SNP).
