Matthew Tkachuk and the Florida Panthers look to win second consecutive game for the first time since the start of the 2022-2023 season.

While it’s no secret that the Florida Panthers have begun the season on a bit of a bumpy road, the Panthers still find themselves sitting near the top of a very competitive Atlantic Division. Matthew Tkachuk and the Panthers will look to gain momentum at Mullet Arena where the Coyotes are still looking to secure their first win at their new temporary home on the campus of Arizona State University.

The Importance of Matthew Tkachuk

Of course Matthew Tkachuk is important, why wouldn’t he be? Already off to a hot start accumulating 13 points in 9 games, Tkachuk is looking to keep the ball rolling in Tempe, Arizona.  However, what makes Tkachuk more important for this battle in the desert is that he has a superb resume when it comes to playing against the Yotes. With a career stat line of 9 Goals, 12 Assists, and a +/- of +4 in only 17 games, it’s inevitable that Tkachuk will put the puck in back of the net or help create an important scoring opportunity.  Tkachuk averages just over a point a game when facing the Yotes and after having a multipoint night Saturday against the Flyers, another multipoint game could be on the horizon for Tkachuk.

Panthers Recent History Against the Coyotes

With a record of 7-3 in their past 10 games against the Coyotes, the Panthers will look to continue their dominance over an opponent that has far less talent. The Yotes top line assuming it’s (Keller-Boyd-Crouse), have a combined +/- of -7 over the course of their career against the Panthers.

Depth is a glaring hole for the Yotes and with a track record of limited production coming from their top line when facing off against the Panthers, the Yotes could be in for a tough game against a heavily talented Florida Panthers squad.
