The Florida Panthers will be playing the St. Louis Blues this afternoon. A Saturday matinee is always fun to watch, but this one is fantastic because it features two of the best teams in the league.

Although it’s a game that hockey fans will be excited about, the Panthers are certainly in for a challenge. They cannot have another game where they have to go through a huge comeback to secure a win. The Blues are a strong and defensively sound team who aren’t known for blowing big leads. With all of this, today’s primary objective for Florida is to start off strongly.

Although the Blues are known as being a very good team, they have hit a bit of a rough patch as of late. Over their last 10 contests, they have a 4-5-1 record, which is far below expectations. However, that shouldn’t make the Panthers take them lightly, as they of course had a prolonged losing streak themselves this campaign.

In fact, one could even argue that this fact should make the Blues come out even hotter today. Even though the Panthers have managed to secure two entertaining comeback wins in a row, they certainly have had their shaky moments in the process. Against a team like the Blues, they need to avoid that.

The primary aspect that the Panthers need to bring to today’s game is that killer instinct they had during their wonderful finishes these last two games. The fact that they were able to win after they were losing a lot by shows just how good this team is capable of being. Now, it’s time for them to do that over a full 60-minute span.

Alas, this contest has the potential to be such an entertaining one. If Florida ends up winning, it’ll be their third straight victory and make them sport a 17-4-3 record. That would certainly be big for them.
