Florida Panthers: Evaluating the Goaltending Position this Past Season

Antti Niemi 

There really isn’t much to say about Antti Niemi’s time with the Panthers. He only played in two games and started in zero of them. In the two games that he appeared in before being let go, he was pretty bad. It was obvious that the Panthers were never going to keep him long-term, and once one of the starters healed from their injury, Niemi would eventually be let go.

Niemi ultimately ended up with the Montreal Canadiens, and actually played pretty well. He also somehow finished with a winning record which is astonishing considering how bad Montreal was during the 2017-18 campaign.
