While we all may hold different views and opinions over the Florida Panthers, I think we can all agree that you’ll get the best fan experience at the BB&T Centre!

The J.D Power 2017 Fan Experience Study measures the satisfaction that fans have when attending a major sports event. The satisfaction of fans is measured on these seven factors: seating area and game experience, security and ushers, leaving the game, arriving at the game, food and beverage, ticket purchases (pricing) and merchandising.

After tallying up (grading) each factor, then the fan satisfaction score for an organization is graded on a 1,000 point scale. In addition, some other factors that are measured but not included in the total grading are: loyalty and future intentions, team performance (on ice) and the team’s image.

You would think that being a smaller market team, that attracts less of an audience would be at a disadvantage. Well, not according to Senior Director Greg Truex.

Here’s what Greg had to say:

"“We know franchises and clubs with winning records generally do not have problems filling seats, but this study is about finding out which teams are giving their fans the best experience for their dollar,”More from Panthers NewsFlorida Panthers Rewarded With 12-Game National Broadcast Schedule For 2023-24 SeasonFlorida Panthers Outside of Favorites in Preseason Stanley Cup Betting OddsFlorida Panthers re-sign defensemen Casey Fitzgerald and John LudvigEvan Rodrigues Signing Was a Steal for the Florida PanthersAn epic run to remember for the Florida Panthers"

He continued by saying
:

"“Whether a team is a perennial champion, a contender or is accumulating draft picks to build for the future, they all need to find ways to get people through the turnstiles. The teams at the top of their markets understand what it takes to keep fans coming back for more, as well as recommending the experience to friends and family, regardless of the standings.”"

Eventually, Greg went on to conclude by saying:

"“Top performers in this study show that they really understand what it’s like to give a world-class experience to their fans,”"

And to add to his concluding remarks, Doug, Matt and Vinnie have all done a wonderful job with satisfying fans and their experience at the BB&T Centre. The Florida Panthers beat out every local team, with a score of 813 out of 1000 (81.3% satisfaction rate).

Second to the Panthers was the Miami Marlins, bringing in a score of 807 (81% satisfaction rate). The lowest ranked South Florida team in this survey, was the Miami Dolphins. Despite being one of Florida’s most beloved team, it’s clear to note that they didn’t rank as well as people thought they would have.

Overall, despite the low attendance rate that the Cats have endured, it’s refreshing to hear how satisfied fans really are about their experience at the BB&T Centre. Matt, Doug and Vinnie, continue whatever you may be doing, because at the end of the day, it’s working!
