5. Jimmy Howard

– Howard had a bit of a down year but that still doesn’t take away from how good he is. Playing in only 51 games last season due to injuries he posted a 21-19-11 record with a 2.66 GAA and a .910 SV%. Those numbers are down from the previous season in which he posted a 2.13 GAA and a .923 SV%. If he stays healthy look for him to regain his form.

4. Roberto Luongo

– Luongo finally returned home this season as the Panthers and Canucks agreed on a lop-sided deal that had the Panthers sending only Shawn Matthias and Jacob Markstrom packing. Luongo is still a star caliber goalie at the age of 35 and last year with the Panthers he stole some wins for us. In 14 games with the Cats he posted a 6-7-1 record to go along with a 2.46 GAA and a .924 SV%. A full season of Luongo should result in many more wins.

3. Ben Bishop

– Bishop had an incredible year for Tampa posting a 37-14-7 record, 2.23 GAA, and a .924 SV%. Those numbers were also enough for him to be named a Vezina Trophy finalist for the leagues top goalie. Even though he didn’t win the Vezina this year I wouldn’t doubt that he wins one in the future.

2. Carey Price

– The Canadians certainly made the right move a few years back when they opted to trade Jaroslav Halak instead of Price. Last season for the Habs he put up solid numbers with a 34-20-5 record, 2.32 GAA, and a .927 GAA. He is still only 26 years old so we may not have seen his best play yet. The goaltending position in Montreal is set for years and years.

1. Tuukka Rask

– This years Vezina Trophy winner and arguably the leagues best net-minder comes in at #1 on my list. Tuukka’s numbers last season were amazing as he owned a 36-15-6 record, 2.04 GAA, and a .930 SV%. Over the past couple years he has made some of the best saves I have ever seen and he is without a doubt the best goalie in the Atlantic Division.
