Previewing The Florida Panthers Offense: Part 1

2012-13 Season:

Last year, Krys Barch stayed true to his role as a tough guy who is not afraid to scrap while providing next to nothing offensively. In 22 games with the New Jersey Devils last year, Barch recorded zero points but racked up 44 penalty minutes.

2013-14 Projection:

The Panthers acquired Barch from the Devils in exchange for minor-league center Scott Timmins. Barch was a part of the Panthers team that won the Southeast Division title in 2011-12 and the Panthers obviously like the toughness he provides on their bottom line. Barch was a healthy scratch in Thurday’s win over the Devils but he got into the lineup Saturday against the Blues. Barch should be in and out of the roster all season but when he does play, don’t expect him to score, Barch has only 31 points (12-19-31) in 327 NHL games to go along with 723 penalty minutes.
