Born and raised in Chicago, I grew up a Blackhawks fan. Still am and always will be. I am “committed to the Indian”. However since moving to South Florida in 1993 I have followed the Florida Panthers. I am a passionate fan of hockey and love to talk about it with anyone who will listen/put up with me. I have many great memories of my time in Chicago, and still have a brick from the old Chicago Stadium which was given to all season ticketholders after it was taken down.

Growing up in South Florida it’s a twist to become an avid fan of a sport that has to do with ice…
Of course growing up in a family that was half French-Canadian I had some knowledge of hockey. As a kid I had a net in our driveway and used to skate around on rollerblades shooting pucks in the net and trying to reenact scenes from The Mighty Ducks.
Ever since high-school I have followed hockey with extreme passion. Living every moment of every shot, hit, fight..etc…not just hockey…but Panthers Hockey. Once I finished college and started drawing a paycheck I got season seats and began to make friends with the people sitting around me and elsewhere in the arena. For me it is quite a drive to get to a game (about an hour and a half) so I plan my days around trips to the rink to watch my beloved Cats take the ice against a variety of opponents.
If you wanna talk Panthers hockey please email me joshluecht@gmail.com or twitter @joshluecht

I’m one of the rare people who were actually born and raised here in South Florida. Grew up on football and soccer until I discovered the NHL through video games in the early 90s and the heyday of the Sega Genesis. A few years later, the Florida Panthers were born and the fuse was lit! Now, this site gives me the opportunities to do one of the things I truly love: talking hockey. Also love talking about Florida Gator football, comics, music, movies and Star Wars.

I’m a South Florida born and raised kid who loves to watch hockey. I only got my Panthers season tickets two years ago, but I’ve made a concerted effort to watch every game, home and away. The more games I’ve watched, the more I’ve learned about hockey and the right way to play it. Those glory days of Bure and Mellanby are faint in my memories: they were before my time. I’m looking forward to watching and writing about the playoff days again in Sunrise. Lord knows we could use some playoffs.

I am a 21 year old who was born and raised in South Florida to a family full of hockey lovers. While I am an avid Pittsburgh Penguins follower, my heart will forever lie with the Florida Panthers. I interned with the Florida Panthers for two seasons as well as the New York Rangers. I stepped into a pair of hockey skates when I was 3 years old and have been hooked ever since. I am passionate about the sport and only wish to one day be apart of an NHL organization full-time.

Born but not raised in Sunrise,Florida and currently reside in San Jose, California. I hit the rink as much as I can, I do not just watch hockey, I play it as well. I have been a Florida Panthers fan as long as I have been a hockey fan. Whenever I have time I like to flip on NHL on the fly and watch bits and pieces of every hockey game. I have always thought that it is defense that wins championships, but having a little offense does not hurt either. I am the type of fan that will sit any were at the hockey game, if it is center ice or up in the stands, and I still continue the search for a Florida Panther Rob Niedermayer jersey.

I was born in Norwalk, Connecticut. My family moved to Englewood, Florida (on the west coast) when I was 6 months old. I played baseball and soccer growing up. After graduating from Lemon Bay High School in 2005, I moved east, to attend Florida Atlantic University. I am majoring in History and Interdisciplinary Social Science. Recently, I’ve been exploring the possibility of a sports-related career. Besides being a staff writer for The Rat Trick, I record weekday morning sports reports for KISL 88.7 FM in California. I mention the Kings and Ducks often. I have followed the Panthers since I arrived in South Florida and my roommate took me to a game. I haven’t missed, seeing or hearing, all but a handful of games since. I was a season ticket holder during 2010-11 and also made it to the St. Pete Times Forum for the shootout win on 2/19/11.
