The Rat Trick Links: Martin Brodeur, Cam Fowler, Nashville Predators

The Anaheim Ducks have one of the best young defensemen in Cam Fowler, who took strides into becoming an elite blue liner last season. But will he ever reach elite level? Pucks of a Feather explores.

When the Nashville Predators traded for James Neal at the draft, they instantly improved an offense that has struggled to create offense since their inception. They weren’t done though, adding two offensively talented pivots in Derek Roy and Mike Ribeiro each to one-year contracts.

A great column on why Martin Brodeur should hang up the skates now, as oppose to playing for another team. It is nearly impossible to try and imagine Brodeur in any other jersey than the New Jersey Devils just seems wrong.

Two more first round picks have signed entry level deals, as Washington Capitals’ first round pick Jakub Vrana and Boston Bruins‘ David Pastrnak have been signed by their teams. With a deep roster up front, it is hard to believe Pastrnak could make the team but with them unable to replace Jarome Iginla, anything could be possible.
