Florida Panthers Re-Sign Brandon Pirri

The Florida Panthers have signed forward Brandon Pirri to a two-year contract today. He was a restricted free agent, and his signing leaves only one RFA forward remaining in Jimmy Hayes.

Florida acquired the 23-year old Toronto native in a trade last season for two draft picks and instantly gave a boost to the team’s stagnant offense.

In 21-games for the Panthers Pirri scored 14-points (7 G, 7 A). He scored 7-points (4 G, 3 A) in the final seven games of the regular season.

His best opportunity to stick in the lineup this upcoming season, is to make a move to the wing – which wouldn’t be an unexpected  move as Dale Tallon has stated that some players would have to make a position switch, even more so now that Panthers added two centers through free agency.
