The Florida Panthers have signed three to contracts, Dylan Olsen, Garrett Wilson and Ryan Martindale. All three were restricted free agents. Olsen’s deal is an one-way deal, with Wilson and Martindale’s contract being two-way deals.
Olsen, 23, was the Chicago Blackhawks’ first round pick in the 2009 NHL draft and was sent to Florida in the Kris Versteeg trade along with Jimmy Hayes. He has played in 72-NHL games over his career and has scored 13-points (3 G, 10 A) in that span. Since he will have to pass through waivers before being sent to the AHL, expect him to make the NHL club this season.
Martindale, 22, has yet to make an appearance in the NHL and was a part of a minor league trade this past season. With two organizations last season, Martindale scored 24-points. His last season in junior hockey saw him score 83-points with the Ottawa 67’s.
Wilson made his NHL debut this past season, playing in three points without registering a point. The former fourth round pick for the Panthers in the 2009-draft (107th overall) scored 30-points in 71-games last year with the San Antonio Rampage.
