The Rat Trick Links: Malcolm Subban Available? Yeo Extension, Blackhawks Comeback

Despite not knowing who will represent the West in the Stanley Cup Final, the NHL has released the schedule of the Final series. Game-1 will take place on Wednesday June 4 and will run all the way to June 18 should the series go a full seven games.

Speaking of game seven, a look at three things the Chicago Blackhawks need to do to complete their comeback. Down 3-games to 1, the ‘Haws have come roaring back to force a game seven, which is tonight.

The Florida Panthers are still looking for a head coach, as are a few other teams. The Carolina Hurricanes reportedly have eyes on Ulf Samuelsson. New General Manager Ron Francis is a former teammate of Samuelsson, which make sense. Cardiac Cane looks at whether he should be the man.

One of the biggest advantages of having great depth is showing itself in Boston right now. Currently manning their goalie position is Tuukka Rask, one of the best goalies in the league, behind him is solid backup Chad Johnson. Behind Johnson is solid prospect Niklas Svedberg. Fighting with Svedberg in the minors is former first round draft pick, Malcolm Subban who could potentially be trade bait this offseason. If I am the Panthers, I am at least calling the Bruins and seeing what it would take to get Subban. It would likely take a lot, but it is still something I think they should look into.

Minnesota Wild head coach Mike Yeo has been given a contract extension by the team. Details of the contract has not been announced.
