Marc Crawford Is The Key For Success In Florida

With the firing of Peter Horacheck the Florida Panthers are looking for a new head coach. Dale Tallon has stated that he is looking for an experienced, seasoned NHL head coach.  With the draft less than a month away and with the list of head coaches available growing short every day Tallon needs to make a move soon. Of the coaches left out there the best candidate left is Marc Crawford.

Marc Crawford has had great success as an NHL head coach. As he led the then Quebec Nodiques to the best record in the Eastern Conference and then the next season as the Colorado Avalanche lead them to a four game sweep of the upstart Florida Panthers in the Stanley Cup Finals. He would end up resigning from the Avs on May 27, 1998. Crawford would coach for 3 more NHL teams (Vancouver, Los Angeles, and Dallas) before heading to Switzerland to coach for the ZSC Lions where he has had much success.

Marc Crawford loves to coach a fast paced and offensively emphasized style of hockey. With the speed and skill of young players like Aleksander Barkov, Nick Bjudstad, Jimmy Hayes, and Brandon Pirri Crawford’s style of coaching would be a benefit to these young kids. He has also had great success with young NHL’s. Tallon has built this team for offense and speed which would be a perfect fit for the Cats to success and bring them to the next level they need to be.

What do you guys think? Is Crawford a good fit or is there someone else out there you would like to see? Let me know and thank you again for reading my blog.
