After a big comeback in game two to steal home ice advantage, the Los Angeles Kings won game three to take a 2-1 series lead. Jeff Carter scored the game tying goal, and then assisted on the go-ahead goal (plus another assist). A recap from the Kings’ perspective and then the recap from the Chicago Blackhawks perpective.
I wrote before that my front runner for the Florida Panthers should be Barry Trotz, but it appears that they might be too late, as it looks like the Washington Capitals may be the front runner to land the free agent coach. Trotz’s defensive style will be an interesting watch in D.C. especially with Alexander Ovechkin in town.
Ryan Miller was one of the most sought after players this year at the trade deadline, but after falling flat on his face in the playoffs he might have hurt his status as an upcoming free agent. The St. Louis Blues already decided to go with a Brian Elliot/Jake Allen duo as oppose to the veteran goaltender. There are still a few teams that will be in the market for a goaltender, and due to a weak goalie free agent class it is hard to believe he won’t be signed by a team but it won’t be for the contract that he will be expecting.
Staff Writer Devin Nolf continues his draft ranking countdown by looking at Sam Bennett and how he would fit into the Panthers organization.
