A collective breath could be held among the Florida Panthers fan base. Whereas during the Olympics in Sochi where they lost two players to injuries, none fell victim of the injury bug during the World Championships.

Team USA lost their elimination game against the Czech Republic, meaning the tournament came to an end for Jimmy Hayes, Vincent Trocheck, and Drew Shore.

It was a quiet tournament for all three players, combining for three points – two of which were by Shore. He scored one of the best goals of the tournament so far, a shorthanded goal against Germany.

Trocheck didn’t register a point during the series but was among one of the best in the faceoff dot throughout the tournament. Hayes had a lone assist, and averaged less than ten minutes of ice-time per game.

Despite none of them really making a big splash during the tournament, all three picked up invaluable experience going into next year. Hayes established himself as a likely regular going into the upcoming year, but Trocheck and Shore will need any help they can get to get them a roster spot.

Even with a great brief stint with the NHL club, depending on what the Panthers do this offseason he could find himself starting in San Antonio again.
