‘Frozen Future’ takes a look at three possible candidates to go first overall, two names are no secret but they threw in a different name that hasn’t been usually associated with the Florida Panthers at the top of the draft.

A look at my afternoon article from yesterday, a preview of the upcoming restricted free agent forwards for the Panthers, led by Brandon Pirri and Jimmy Hayes.

Speaking of contracts, the St. Louis Blues signed backup goaltender Brian Elliott to a three year contract, meaning the end to the Ryan Miller era in St. Louis. As of right now it appears they will be running with a Elliott/Jake Allen goalie combination for the foreseeable future.

The Anaheim Ducks have extended their general manager Bob Murray’s contract through the 2019-2020 season. The Ducks finished with the most points in the Western Conference and were one point shy of winning the President’s Trophy.

Alex Ovechkin did not tear any ligaments in his knee and will be ready for Washington Capital’s training camp this fall. He was injured against Germany on a hit from Marcus Kink – who has since been suspended one game for his actions.
