Welcome to The Rat Trick’s morning links! Your best best to find out what is going on around the NHL. Two more series got under way in the Conference Semi-Finals, with just the Anaheim Ducks-Los Angeles Kings series left to kick off.

The New York Rangers got off on the right foot, as they upset the Pittsburgh Penguins in game one of their series. After blowing an early 2-0 lead, Derick Brassard scored the game winning overtime goal. [NHL.com]

Patrick Kane, was well, his usually self last night scoring two goals in the Chicago Blackhawks 5-2 win. Pound-for-pound, is there a more dynamic player in the league right now? [NHL.com]

The Montreal Canadiens downed the Boston Bruins on a P.K. Subban overtime goal on Wednesday, but what happened afterwards on social media afterwards stole the show. If you follow hockey, I’m sure you know by now. Andrew Thompson of Causeway Crowd wrote an open letter from ‘Bruins Fans’ to the ‘other’ Bruins fans.

Somebody who commented yesterday on a post said that he wanted Todd McLellan if he is let go by the San Jose Sharks, which I wouldn’t mind. But if the Sharks GM has any say in it – that won’t be happening.

I haven’t begun really diving into the draft yet, but it looks like I’m not the only fan of Michael Dal Colle.

The Ottawa Senators’ Fansided website, Sens Shot, has been doing a team by team season review and yesterday was the Florida Panthers’ day. They asked me a few questions on the Panthers seasons, which was pretty cool.

The Washington Capitals traded for pending free agent Jaroslav Halak at the deadline, and now with no interest in resigning him – flipped him yesterday for a fourth round pick, as he heads to the New York Islanders. A look at the positives of the trade from the Capitals perspective.
