Florida Panthers goaltender Roberto Luongo did not take the ice for the start of the second period of their game against the Carolina Hurricanes and is not expected to return for the rest of the night. The team won’t have any updates until after the game.
Luongo was shaken up after Hurricanes’ forward Radek Dvorak crashed into him – earning a game misconduct in the process. He remained in the game for the remainder of the period but did not start the second period.
One theory is that Luongo may have needed stitches due to the collision with Dvorak.
Backup Dan Ellis took over for Luongo. Stay tuned to The Rat Trick for any more news and updates on the Luongo’s injury.
