Well, when it rains it pours apparently. The Florida Panthers are already suffering through a frustrating season, near the bottom of the standings and now two of the bright spots of their season has quickly turned into something to be worried about.
The Panthers had two players elected to represent their countries at the Olympics, at first that is something to be proud of – two players from their organization are getting a chance to shine on the world stage.
After Alexsander Barkov left yesterday’s game against Norway, Florida’s other representative Tomas Kopecky left his game against Slovenia after taking a blow to the head.

The link on the tweet has a GIF with the hit on it. Hate to speculate, but some early words has said it could be a concussion which wouldn’t be surprising.
Injuries are apart of the game, and are going to happen no matter what you do. But this is definitely a worse case scenario for the Panthers, and the NHL. Two players from one team, and now one of the higher profile players in the tournament (Henrik Zetterberg) have been injured. Zetterberg was sent home and his season is in doubt.
Let’s hope that isn’t the case for either Barkov or Kopecky. Check back with The Rat Trick for any and all updates.
