Road Warriors: San Antonio Rampage play all road games in February

With just two Florida Panthers heading to Sochi for the Winter Olympics, Panthers’ fans will have to look to the San Antonio Rampage to cheer for their own.

However, those who call the San Antonio area home will have a hard time finding their team as the Rampage will not play a single home game for the entire month of February.

Don’t worry you didn’t read that wrong – the Rampage plays all ten games this month on the road. The month starts off tomorrow against the Toronto Marlies and will see them travel to Lake Erie, Grand Rapids, Hamilton, and Rochester wrapping it up in Utica.

Talk about building up some frequent flyer (I’m sure bus for most) miles this month. According to the team’s site, the trip will cover 5,707 miles and will include a quick break for the AHL All Star Classic.

Here’s a full rundown of their schedule for the month,

5-Feb at Toronto Marlies
7-Feb at Lake Erie Monsters
8-Feb at Lake Erie Monsters
14-Feb at Grand Rapids Griffins
15-Feb at Grand Rapids Griffins
17-Feb at Hamilton Bulldogs
21-Feb at Rochester Americans
22-Feb at Toronto Marlies
23-Feb at Hamilton Bulldogs
26-Feb at Utica Comets

What are your thoughts on the schedule? Is it something you have ever seen before? I can’t recall a team not playing a single home game in an entire month. It will be interesting to keep an eye on the team’s record throughout the month.
