Previewing The Florida Panthers Offense: Part 2

Yesterday in Part 1 we took a look at the first half of the Panthers offense. Here are our projections for the rest of the Panther forwards:

Shawn Matthias

Height: 6’4” Weight: 220 Age: 25

2012-13 Season:

Shawn Matthias had a breakout month of March last season scoring eleven goals in sixteen games. The Panthers were satisfied with their 6’4” center’s play and they re-signed him to a two-year deal worth $3.5 million.

2013-14 Projection:

Matthias needs to prove that last March is the rule and not an exception. He expressed a desire to be the team’s top center this season but so far he has played on the Panthers’ bottom lines. Matthias brings an enticing blend of size, speed, and skill to the table. Even while playing bottom six minutes this season, he should be able to make a run at the 20-goal mark.
