Tim Thomas sustained an injury in the first period of the Florida Panthers game against the Philadelphia Flyers.

Thomas came up lame following the Flyers second goal at 7:31 in the first. The injury appeared to occur when Thomas came out to stop a Brayden Schenn slap shot. Schenn’s shot missed the net but Coburn gathered up the puck after a wild bounce off the end boards. With Thomas slow to get up, Coburn rifled the puck into the back of the Panther net to put the Flyers ahead 2-0.

Thomas skated to the bench immediately after the goal and went right into the tunnel down to the locker room. Jacob Markstrom came into the game for Thomas for the second straight game.

UPDATE: According to Panthers beat writer George Richards, Thomas suffered a lower body injury and he will not return tonight.
