Over the weekend the San Antonio Rampage split a two game series with the Charlotte Checkers. The Rampage took Saturday night’s game with a 3-2 win. Greg Rallo recorded his 15th goal of the season. Jacob Markstrom recorded his 15th win of the season stopping 29 of 31 shots. The win saturday was the third straight for San Antonio. This streak was ended Sunday when the Rampage dropped the rematch 2-1. Sunday’s loss brought the Rampage to 21-23-0-4. The team has 46 points and currently is last place in the South Division. The Rampage play three in a row this weekend from Friday-Sunday, all on the road.
Over in the ECHL, the Cincinnati Cyclones won both their weekend road games. On Saturday the Cyclones topped the Greenville Road Warriors with a 4-3 shootout win. Goalie Brian Foster stood on his head making 45 saves on 48 shots. The Cyclones carried their momentum into Sunday where they beat the Gwinnett Gladiators 3-2. Foster was on his game again stopping 35 of 37 to pick up his 15th win of the season. Cincinnati holds a four point first place lead in the North Division and their record through 50 games is 28-16-4-2, good for 62 points.
Cincinnati plays a home game Tuesday against the Fort Wayne Komets followed by a two game series against the Trenton Titans on Friday and Saturday.
