FINAL: 4-1 Canadiens Over Panthers

The final score from Montreal… 4-1.  The Montreal Canadiens out shot the Florida Panther by only 5 shots, but Montreal was able to allow the puck to see the inside of the goal net 4 times out of 33.  By contrast, the Florida Panthers were able to only score once on 28 shots.  Jose Theodore was given the night off to rest, and Scott Clemensen took  his place between the pipes.

Scoring for Montreal was A. Markov (who scored twice), T. Plekanec, and A. Galchenyuk.  The lone Panther goal to make sure they were not shut-out for the 2nd night in a row was T. Kopecky.

There were lots of penalties during the game… especially during the 3rd period.  The official box score can be seen here.

Next up for the Panthers… Ottawa comes down here to Sunrise on Thursday, and Philadelphia (who is winless so far in this shortened season) plays the Panthers on Saturday.

The Panthers will definitely be seeing red as they try to claw their way back to being number one in the Southeast Division, and defend the Southeast Division Championship.

Do they have what it takes to defend how far they went in the playoffs last year?  We shall see.

GO PANTHERS!!!
