Salvaging a Season By January 19th

With the January 19th date for being able to play a 48 game season, I decided to state that it really doesn’t matter as the excitement has worn off for me.  I still love hockey with all my heart, and it is my number one sport, but I find myself saying who cares?  It just isn’t the same in my opinion.

The thrill of seeing a real training camp, and seeing new acquisitions and rookies compete for roster spots, is just not there for me.  Seeing players from the American Hockey and East Coast Hockey Leagues  compete for a roster spot won’t be there.  Players are going to be from the NHL as the other two leagues are well into their seasons, and competing for the Calder and Kelly Cups, respectively.

I say to the NHL and the NHLPA… take your time as we cannot afford to go through this again… ever.  This is not going to be settled by rushing through the pouring through of 288 pages of documents within a few weeks.  This takes time.  Rush this, and I guarantee you, we will have another lockout.  Mark my words.
