It is time to catch up on News from the Telephone…

On December 22, the players that belong to the NHLPA voted overwhelmingly to give the executive board power to file a disclaimer of interest until January 2nd.  This means the union has taken steps towards being able to file antitrust lawsuits against the league, and owners.

The NHL has lost a total of 625 games to date, including the Winter Classic and All Star Weekend/Game.

President Obama urged the NHL and NHLPA to “do right by the fans” and find a way to agree to a new Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Montreal Canadiens defenseman Josh Gorges extented an open invitation via Twitter advising people to join him at a Montreal ice rink for a pickup game of hockey.

That’s all for now.
