Is the lockout a Nightmare?

What is a hockey fans worst nightmare?  Why does it have to be that way?  Do we love players, a team, or the sport itself?

To many hockey fans, the lockout is their worst nightmare come true.  Why?  Because there are many fans who are fans of just one team, and the players on that particular team.  There are many who are protesting because of the lockout.

If that is what you want to do…  this is a free country where we do have the freedom of speech.   I choose not to wallow in the lockout, and cry.  I choose to explore what options are out there.  There is a season being played by the affiliates of all 30 major teams in the National Hockey League.  There is the American Hockey League, East Coast Hockey League, Kontinental Hockey League, and many other leagues and teams that are playing right now.

Why should we embrace the hockey being played by these teams?

The players for the teams in these leagues are going to be the future  stars for the major teams once everything is settled, and they take care of the economic mess that was created over the years.  There are players that will eventually end up being Panthers that are playing for the San Antonio Rampage and Cincinnati Cyclones.  I also do know there are players for the Florida colleges and universities that have high hopes and dreams of making it to the big leagues someday.

I choose to embrace the sport itself as I know it takes alot to make it to the big leagues.  I want to be able to say I saw that player when they were just a kid, or when they played in high school and college.

You never know who is going to make it.  Drop the Puck!
