I hope that you enjoyed our first review covering the Florida Panthers’ season from September to December of 2011. Here I bring you part two that covers January to April of 2012. Enjoy the ride.
January: There were many things that upset Panther fans last season, as it seemed as though the Cats spent the entire year proving people wrong. One of the most glaring moments of disrespect was when Kris Versteeg was snubbed from the All-Star game. Gabby Kiger offered her feelings.
Our own Paige Lewis went to last year’s Winter Classic. It was a trip of a lifetime, and by reading this, you can tell why.
February: Sean Bergenheim was acquired to provide scoring and energy. Though it took him a while to do so, by this time last season, he had found his touch. Staffer David Rodriguez is fully supportive.
One of the best things I did was split up the game coverage duties between Dave Lasseter and myself. I usually did the previews, and he usually did the post game. After a loss to Washington, Dave had one of his finer moments describing a shutout loss to the Caps. Enjoy what is known as the video recap.
March: One of our newest additions to our staff was Amanda Land who covers the San Antonio Rampage for us on a weekly basis. Here is the first Rampage Report!
Another member who joined our staff in March was Chrissy Parente. A passionate and dedicated fan herself, we could see her talents just by the title of this article. Chrissy has taken a leave from the site, but for a very good reason…..an internship with the Florida Panthers!
April: Staffer Justen Rosenberg takes a look at the path of Stephen Weiss, who finally made the playoffs!
The season ended with a double overtime loss to the New Jersey Devils, who ultimately went to the Stanley Cup Final, losing to the Los Angeles Kings. Reading my eulogy again made me yearn for the start of the upcoming season. I poured everything I had into that article, just like I have to this site. Enjoy it one more time, and be proud.
There were a few more articles that deserved to make it, however limiting it to two per month was extremely difficult. The staff here is fantastic, and I can’t imagine working with a better group of people. I know I speak for them when I say that we all appreciate the support you’ve given us.
Thanks for reading. We welcome your comments and opinions.
