The Panthers don’t need his drama and baggage. He’s on the downside of his career, and in all honesty, that contract would tie our hands of doing anything with regards to improving our offence. We cannot tie up and pay $ 6.7 million dollars to a goaltender who hasn’t won anything yet. I don’t count the Olympics, because 1) they almost lost and 2) that was a great team in front of him.

There is nothing wrong with our netminders for this season. If we can get a Nash, or a Bobby Ryan via trade then do it. Otherwise, next years free agent pool is pretty interesting.

@weseered Bona fide star is great, an offensive star however. Luongo has too much negative baggage that comes with him and if he has a so-so year,people will be second guessing Tallon left and right. Huberdeau has a bright future hopefully he will be star, but like you said a guy like Nash would be great, but not at any price. Some of these guys are getting ridiculous sums of cash.

Completely agree with your, however I think the push for Luongo is really a push for a “big name star”. If the asking price for Rick Nash was still even remotely close to reasonable it would be an option. Florida fans want a bona fide star and we may get that in Huberdeau so we just need to be patient and trust in Dale.
