Breaking News: Florida Panthers Resign Scott Clemmensen

The Florida Panthers kicked off the day and have resigned 34 year old goaltender Scott Clemmensen to a two year deal reported to be at an average of $1.2 million dollars per season.

Last year Clemmensen was outstanding in his backup role for the Florida Panthers.  Appearing in 30 games, Clemmer was 14-6-6 in primarily a back up role to Jose Theodore.  Clemmensen and Theo provided a solid veteran one-two punch last season for the Panthers, and it was evident that regardless of who played in net, the Panthers were confident in either netminder.

Harvey Fialkov who covers the Panthers for the Sun-Sentinel grabbed this quote from Dale Tallon after the signing was made official:

“Scott is a high-character, hard-working player who is a true professional in every sense”.

What this means for the rest of today remains to be seen.  Stay tuned to our site and follow us on Twitter!
