Stanley Cup Finals Game 5-Devils vs Kings- Kings Try Again For Cup

Well, no sweep for the LA Kings in these Stanley Cup Finals but I see them closing this out tonight. Only 1 team in NHL history has come back from a 3-0 deficit to win the last 4 games winning them the Cup: The 1942 Toronto Maple Leafs. There is a reason only 1 team has done that. In these Finals, while anything is possible, it is very challenging to win 4 in a row. The Kings were close to it but ultimately couldn’t close it out.

Who was the guy who prevented the LA Kings from winning the Stanley Cup? Well I think you all could take a wild guess. Adam Henrique! I swear the guy has some super power where he only scores critical game winning goals. He has 3 goals in these playoffs. The heartbreaking Game 7 OT goal that sent the Devils to Round 2 vs the Panthers, another OT goal vs the Rangers which would send the Devils to the Finals and Wednesday night, a goal with about 4 minutes late to put the Devils up 2-1. Basically, keep the puck away from Henrique because if you don’t, you might be Henriqued which is not a good thing!

If the LA Kings want to win this one, they have to continue being strong on their forecheck. It has been good all series long and they’ll need to continue it. As always, take shots, and more shots. Well, the hockey type of shots. Save the other kind for after you win the Stanley Cup! Like I always say, the rebounds are critical and if you get to them, you can score on Brodeur so traffic in front of him is critical. Have strong defense to make sure the Devils top line doesn’t crowd around Quick. Zach Parise did have a twisted ankle after Game 4 but claims he is fine for this game.

The only thing for the New Jersey Devils is to take advantage of all opportunities. You can’t miss open nets, can’t miss a pass or a shot. Take advantage of all powerplay opportunities you get because they won’t come too often. While Quick is incredible, he makes mistakes so get shots on him because you never know what will happen.

Game 5 starts at 8pm and can be watched on NBC! Enjoy the game!
