Not going to be much of a recap of this one because I don’t even know where to begin. I can’t help but ask myself how the Florida Panthers come out and lay that type of an egg against the bottom feeding Columbus Blue Jackets, especially with how Thursday game against Minnesota ended? Where was the intensity? The effort? The desperation of a playoff race? It wasn’t in Columbus, that’s for sure? Instead the Panthers dug themselves a hole 3:41 into the game and never even came close to digging themselves out. A 5-on-3 for a minute and a half? Nothing. Second period comeback? Not with a five penalty performance in the session. Where is the team that won five in a row just a few weeks back?
Of course, with all of this said and the way this season has gone, I fully expect the Panthers to board a plane back home Sunday with a win against the Detroit Red Wings in their pockets. I’m not ready to give up the ship by any means but you can’t help but be a bit troubled with the way this team has played since beating Philadelphia a week and a half ago.
So, in an effort to put Friday’s debacle behind us, instead of thinking about this one and ruining your Saturday, watch this clip of Iron Maiden playing The Wicker Man in front of a monster crowd at Rock In Rio a few years back. Enjoy.
