Saturday Song Of The Week: The Drums

The Drums are an American Indie pop band from Brooklyn, New York with members also from a band called The Goat Explosion (lol).  Anyway, their catchy sound and lyrics are what attracted me to this tune that I’m featuring today.  Jonathan Pierce leads the band as he performs all the main vocals and Jacob Graham handles the bass guitar and percussion….these two are the founding members of the band.  After separating for a few years, they reunited in 2008 to form the Drums, and began receiving notoriety mostly in the UK.

They’ve released two albums with Portamento being their most recent release this past September.  The song I’ve chosen for today is called Money.  I probably picked this tune just for the one line that is repeated over and over where Pierce says:  I’d like to buy you something, but I don’t have any Money.  Unless you listen to Sirius XMU, you may not have heard these boys.  Give ‘em a listen.

If you liked that, here’s a bonus track, Book of Revelations.
