Rat Trick Contest: Name The Top Line

One of the most difficult jobs for Kevin Dineen going into this season, (his first as a head coach) was for him to decide on his lines.  Who m did he think should play with who, and who did he think would perform better with who.  With 11 new players on the Florida Panthers, everyone needed to get acquainted with each other, and fast.  Well my loyal readers it appears that the Florida Panthers top line centered by Stephen Weiss, with Kris Versteeg and Tomas Fleischmann as his wingers seem to be a very special trio.

Do they have the making of a special line?  It appears right now that yes they do.  There have been  many famous lines in the NHL over the years, some of which are given a catchy nickname.  Examples are, The MPH Line (Pit Martin, Jim Pappin, Dennis Hull) of the Chicago Blackhawks.  The French Connection Line (Rick Martin, Rene Robert and Gilbert Perreault) of the Buffalo Sabres.  The Legion of Doom (Eric Lindros, Mikael Renberg and John LeClair) of the Philadelphia Flyers.  The Clydesdale Line (Curt Fraser, Troy Murray and Ed Olczyk) also of the Chicago Blackhawks.  Even coach Kevin Dineen was part of a famous line called The FTD Line with Ron Francis and Sylvain Turgeon as his linemates when he played in Hartford.  For a complete list of famous and not so famous NHL trios, click here.
