LA Kings goaltender Jonathan Quick has started the 2011-2012 season with a bang, putting up a 5-0 record in 6 games played, while posting 3 straight shutouts and a 0.81 GAA. What could the play of Jonathan Quick mean for the Los Angeles Kings heading forward, and how could it make a huge impact in their season?
Jonathan Quick started his career with the Los Angeles Kings in 2007-2008, playing in a total of 3 games while posting a 1-2 record. In Jonathan Quicks 2nd season with the Los Angeles Kings he played in a total of 44 games while posting a 21-18 record along with 4 shutouts. Following the 2008-2009 season Jonathan Quick had what may just be the best season of his young career posting a 39-24 record with 4 shutouts in 72 games played, sending the Los Angeles Kings into the NHL playoffs, but eventually losing to the Vancouver Canucks” href=”http://canucks.nhl.com/”>Vancouver Canucks 4-2 in round 1. In Jonathan Quick’s most recent season in 2010-2011 he posted a 35-24 record with 6 shutouts in 61 games played, also Jonathan Quick and the Los Angeles Kings did not lose a in a shootout in the 2010-2011 season. Jonathan Quick would once again lead his young Los Angeles Kings team into the postseason, but once again they would fall in round 1, except this time 4-2 to the SSan Jose Sharks” href=”http://sharks.nhl.com/”>an Jose Sharks.
Jonathan Quick has presented himself as an early Vezina trophy candidate with his remarkable performances early in the 2011-2012 season, I have always been a big fan of Jonathan Quick, he is very consistent and works very hard to be the star goaltender for the Los Angeles kings. Jonathan Quick is the key to the LA Kings season this year, the Los Angeles Kings have a very deep team from offense to defense all the way to their goaltending, and as shown last season Jonathan Quick is a brick in net during the shootout and it is always important to get those shootout wins, as well as keeping the LA Kings in the game from beginning to end and without Jonathan Quick I do not know were the Los Angeles Kings would be.
I look forward to watching Jonathan Quick in his quest for the Vezina trophy this season, and he has got my vote for the All Star game that is for sure, I think it is about time Jonathan Quick gets into the All Star game and I hope he does this season.
