Tomas Fleischmann Ready For A Comeback Season! Source: examiner.com

What Can We Expect From Tomas Fleischmann This Season?

The Florida Panthers had a busy offseason that is for sure, they made a series of key additions to help push their team to the playoffs and could Tomas Fleischmann be one of their best offseason additions?  Tomas Fleischmann looked like he was on the verge of a breakout season last year, but after a fast start with the Colorado Avalanche, Fleischmann was diagnosed with a blood clot in his lug.  After being diagnosed with the blood clot, Tomas Fleischmann missed the rest of the season with the Colorado Avalanche and then was not re signed by the Colorado Avalanche this offseason.  Tomas Fleischmann was looking to make a comeback in the 2011-2012 season and Dale Tallon believed in that comeback, signing Tomas Fleischmann to a 4 year deal.

Tomas Fleischmann was drafted by the Detroit Red Wings in the 2nd round of the NHL draft in 2002, but that did not last long when the next season the Detroit Red Wings traded Tomas Fleischmann’s contract rights to the Washington Capitals.  In 2005-2006 Tomas Fleischmann got his first shot in the NHL, Tomas Fleischmann played 14 games in the 2005-2006 season putting up a total of 2 points. In the following 2006-2007 season Tomas Fleischmann would then play 29 games and this time Tomas Fleischmann would put up a total of 8 points.  In 2007-2008 that is when Tomas Fleischmann got the chance he had been waiting for, he played 75 games and put up a total of 30 points.   Fleischmann would then follow up a career best season with a new career best season playing 73 games and putting up a total of 37 points, 7 more points then Fleischmann put up a year ago.  Those two seasons were no match though for what is till this day Tomas Fleischmann’s career best season, in 69 games played Tomas Fleischmann put up a total of 51 points, and what is really interesting is when his games played decreased his points increased.

Times were good for Washington Capitals forward Tomas Fleischmann, but then after playing 23 games with the Washington Capitals and putting up a total of 10 points, Tomas Fleischmann was traded to the Colorado Avalanche for Scott Hannan.  Before Tomas Fleischmann was diagnosed with a blood clot in his lung, Tomas Fleischmann played 22 games and put up a total of 21 points.  What looked like what was going to be a breakout season for Tomas Fleischmann was cut short, when Tomas Fleischmann was diagnosed with a blood clot in his left lung which made him miss the rest of the season and even was a threat to his career.  Their was a light at the end of the tunnel though for Tomas Fleischmann, when the 2011-2012 NHL free agency started, Florida Panthers GM Dale Tallon believed in Tomas Fleischmann and signed him to a 4 year deal.  What can Tomas Fleischmann bring to the Florida Panthers this season?

What can Tomas Fleischmann bring to the Florida Panthers this season? One thing that Tomas Fleischmann can bring is depth, this offseason the Florida Panthers added a lot of depth to the team and I think that really would help players like Stephen Weiss and David Booth, and not just putting everything on them like in the past.  Another thing I believe Tomas Fleischmann can bring to the Florida Panthers is star power, yes I said star power he was on the verge of something great with the Washington Capitals and now that he is with the Florida Panthers and after everything that has happened to Tomas Fleischmann I still believe he can have a breakout season this year.  I am excited to see Tomas Fleischmann as a Florida Panther, I think that he can do great things with us and I believe that he will become a fan favorite in a hurry!
