Today’s music video is Be True by Bruce Springsteen.
Yesterday The Hockey News (the bible to many of us) began to make it’s early season predictions, and my guess is that they must have put the team names in a hat and drew them out. Though I could see the Ottawa Senators being picked to finish 15th in the conference, I was a bit taken back when I saw the Florida Panthers were picked to finish 14th. Really? This happens to be the most talented team that the Florida Panthers have assembled in years, and far superior to last year’s model. Are you telling me they won’t finish ahead of the New York Islanders? What about the Winnipeg Jets? Toronto will finish ahead of us? One of the reasons was that there are going to be too many what ifs. I know that they have 11 consecutive years of playoff failure to base their prediction on, but really? 14th? Well what if we score 60 more goals than last year? What if we get our power play to at least the middle of the pack from dead last where it was last season? What if Jose Theodore wins 30 games? What if Erik Gudbranson plays so well he’s a Calder Trophy finalist? It’s apparent that this season will be all about making sure we aren’t the Rodney Dangerfield of hockey.
More after the jump.
