Today’s music video on Friday Flashback takes us back to 1991 for Losing My Religion by R.E.M.

The latest ticket promo by the Florida Panthers finally makes sense.  After years of having to invite the opposing fans to the Bank Atlantic Center to fill the building, the Panthers will now have their own “home fans only” section.  Why not?  I think that we’ve all had enough of our home arena being invaded by fans that cheer for the visitor.  While I prefer to watch a game with a packed house, nothing is more irritating that watching a game with the lunatics from out of town cheering for themselves, and booing us as if the building was theirs.  If this promo works, watching a game against the Canadians or Rangers might actually be enjoyable again.  Any time there’s more of us than there are of them it’s a good thing.  The economics of hockey work better when your building is full.  I get it….. but in this case I have one thing to say to the visitors:  This is Our House!

Shameless Plug/Help:  We don’t normally do this, but we’d appreciate it if you’d take one minute to nominate The Rat Trick for Miami’s Most Valuable Blog.  Voting  begins August 16th, but we need to have enough nominations to be entered.  Thanks.  We appreciate it.
