Changing the Culture

Over the last couple of weeks, we’ve acquired 11 new Panthers. It’s a significant step towards winning the cup. These players have passion and the willingness to win. And they want to be Florida Panthers – Dale Tallon

One of the things that Tallon has been talking about a lot lately is how the players he acquired through free agency and through trade on July 1st want to be Florida Panthers.

…and well for a fan of this team that is quite an unusual thing to hear.

Tallon is actually going out a doing better than anyone really thought he could. His first step in getting Brain Campbell led the way to making this team 100% better and improving the outlook of the franchise. Dale said on that day that bringing in a high quality guy like Campbell would lead the way to bringing in more high quality players….and he was right.

“This has really exceeded expectations. We thought if we got three or four guys, we would be happy on that first day,’’ Tallon said. “Things just kept flowing. It turned into quite a few days for us. We made a lot of hard decisions in February. But we had a plan and we’re sticking to it. We made room, made ourselves flexible so we could do this.’’

The team has gotten new jerseys to provide a new, yet old, look for the franchise. They have gone out and remodeled the team to suit Tallon’s liking, and they have brought credibility to the team’s fans…which honestly is what they have been looking for, for a long time.

The best part is that now there will be no rushing young players up to NHL…now with these veterans in place and with a room full of guys who want to play here the young draft picks in our system will have a chance to develop properly and actually become stars eventually here in South Florida.

The culture is changing…tickets are selling, people are excited, hockey is being talked about…

It’s a great time to be a Panthers fan.

Are you excited for October?

It’s refreshing and it’s exciting that’s for sure. The outlook here is significantly more positive than it’s been for quite a while. it’s nice to know that the culture club atmosphere is over.

I thought that with the Campbell trade, Dale sent a message that he was serious. Campbell had to waive his NTC to come here. That says a lot!

Definitely super excited for the season. The days are going by too slow!

Best summer for this organization in awhile possibly ever. Only fitting going back to red sweaters since it’s almost like a brand new organizaation.

The Devils (Deboer) and Capitals (Vokoun) games are going to be very interesting! I too think that the Campbell signing really got the ball rolling. Can’t wait for this season to start!
