The Rat Trick Draft Profile: Adam Larsson

One of the most exciting times of the year is upon us as we are about one week away from the NHL Entry Draft which starts Friday June 24th at 6:00 P.M. Eastern time. The Florida Panthers will be drafting in the third position just as they did last season, and we here at the Rat Trick are going to break down some of the possiblities.

Today, we’ll look at Swedish blueliner Adam Larsson. Larsson will be one of the top 5 in this years draft. He has a very good chance to go in the top 3.

He stands 6 foot 3 inches and weighs in at 220 pounds. Using this size and smooth skating ability he has the ability to be very strong on defense, while having offensive prowess as well. He has drawn comparisons to follow Swede Niklas Lidstrom. Being only 18 years old he still has much to learn.

The Panthers could have a very strong defensive presence if they were to draft him. He is a Dale Tallon type of player though, so don’t be surprised if he comes to South Florida in the near future.

Here are examples of his play: Defense Offense
