Each day we are going to give you the Final Grade on the Florida Panthers roster. The members here known as The Rat Pack will rotate daily until we have completed our assessment of bodies talent
players. Today’s Final Grade Report is on Mike Weaver.

Position: Defense

2010-2011 Season Stats:
Florida: 82 Games: 2 goals, 11 assists, 13 points, +1

2011-2012 Contract Situation: One-year remaining on his 2-year contract, will make 900,000 Dollars.

Review: With such a young blue line the Panthers were looking through the market for someone with age, and experience to lead this team, and after going through several second-hand bins, the Panthers come across their man; Mike Weaver. Though fairly small for a defenseman standing at only 5’9 and weighing 186 pounds, Weaver has established himself as a solid, defensive-defensemen. Weaver produced a formidable season on the penalty kill for the Panthers. He also closed out the season with a +1 rating overall, and amassed 20:48 minutes per game.

Overall Grade: B : Weaver performed to the level that was expected of him. He played hard, and played with experience from the blueline like he was told too. When McCabe left, Weaver stepped up to the plate and played a big role on the blueline, and kept this young Panthers team in tact. The club will expect him to step up even more next season and help produce more points from the bluelines, and to have another stellar performance on the penalty kill.
