Review: Repik played 53 games for the Rochester Americans this year. Its not easy for a player to split time with two different teams. Having changing line mates and playing on different lines can alter a players production. In this case, that has something to do with it, but honestly, Repik needs to use his call ups as an opportunity to show that he has the talent to excel at the NHL level. Last season, the Panthers had injuries and a few instances where they wanted to shake up the line up, and Michal Repik was given his chance. Repik played 31 games, scoring 2 goals and 6 assists. In Repik’s defense, he played on the bottom two lines and averaged 12 minutes of ice time per game. What the Panthers need from call ups is hard work and production. Repik wasn’t terrible defensively, as a young player he is expected to still be figuring out positioning on the ice, and his -6 plus/minus rating does not raise any red flags. Does he have potential? Yes. Did he have a good season when he was called up to the NHL? No. Repik should be working hard this off season, and show up to training camp ready to put pucks in the net. Dale Tallon wants big physical forwards, At 5’10″” 180 pounds Repik doesn’t fit that profile. Repik needs to show that his size doesn’t matter. He can do it, he just didn’t do that last season.
