Derek Boogaard. Passed Away Friday Night. He Was 28.

Sad news last night in the world of the NHL as New York Ranger enforcer Derek Boogaard was found dead in his apartment by members of his family.  Boogaard was 28 years old and was a fierce competitor on the ice, and from what I have read, one of the nicest and most caring individuals off it.  Take a few moments to read the links here by people who can give a much better side of Derek than I can.

Former Florida Panther reporter Mike Russo gives a very warm tribute.

NHL Players and fans remember him as well.  Puck Daddy.

Blue Line Station our FanSided New York Ranger site remembers Derek.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Boogaard family, the New York Rangers and The Minnesota Wild… the teams he played for.  Rest in peace Derek.
