Today’s musical choice on Friday Flashback is a song that was a favourite of my Dad who passed away on this day in 1993. Yes it’s kinda corny, but in honor of him I’m playing it. If you like it, then great. If you don’t, no hard feelings. The Bellamy Brothers and Let Your Love Flow.
The only way I could continue with anything more of substance was to write this in a separate sitting. If you knew how close I was to my Dad you’d understand. I thought of a million ways of what I would say today if anything, and none of them made any sense…. and none of them would probably matter to you. He is the person who is responsible for making me fall in love with hockey as he took me to my first game on a cold, snowy night in Chicago. I’ll never forget that. All I can say is this…. do yourselves a favor… tell someone in your life today that you love them. A spouse, a relative, a friend, or even a special person in your life. Could even be someone you haven’t seen in a while. I promise you’ll feel better that you did.
