I’m back, but after you start to read this you may want me to leave again. Normally I wanted Thursday’s to be “New Releases Thursday” , but not today. Not this Thursday.
Today’s musical selection is The River by Bruce Springsteen. A live performance from his New York City tour in 2002. Why? The following phrase in the song sums it up: ” Is a dream a lie if it don’t come true, or is it something worse”?.
I’ll talk about my trip to Chicago and our college tour in a day or two, but for now just know that it was great. The reason for the “bitterness” or sour attitude is the Chicago Blackhawks loss to the classless Vancouver Canucks. I know this is a site about the Florida Panthers, but you know that I lived in Chicago for 30 years till I moved here. Forget doing the math, Chicago’s in my blood as well as a few other readers who come to this site as well. Some of those readers are closer to my heart than others. One of them is dorkier than the rest…. I didn’t expect a repeat Cup victory, but thought it would have been great to advance to the second round. Regardless and all nitpicking aside, it was a fantastic series that could have been a Stanley Cup Final match. It seemed as though the Canucks celebrated that way afterwards and can breathe for a day. Globe and Mail. Until tonight. Links after the jump.
Here’s a few things to read for today:
