Daily Pucking Grind. Dark Monday Roast. April 4th.

Today’s music selection is Think You Can Wait.  A brilliant new song by The National that was written for the movie Win Win.

As you have noticed things have become quite somber lately.  The Florida Panthers are in the midst of an eight game losing streak, which hasn’t happened since 2005.  It’s been a long year, and while we here at the Rat Trick have tried to be as positive as possible (within reason), we at least are going to be candid in our analysis of the situation.   You wouldn’t respect of if we weren’t. Of course you know that losing is something that I have absolutely no patience for.  Not making the playoffs for 10 consecutive seasons is unconscionable.  While I never really expected the playoffs to be part of this season, there were times when cinderella ran through my head.  But I digress.  You’re going to see a combination of sarcastic, funny, true, and heartfelt posts here as the season winds down, and we go into the summer.  My posts that are called The Basement Monologues are meant to be my honest opinion of what I see.  The title, is just me trying to humor myself, as well as you.  I don’t want to be in the basement, but it is what it is.  Getting a chance at a top draft pick will be nice, as long as the player chosen lives up to those expectations.  More on this later.  A few links are after the jump

The contest for the commemorative playoff drought banner has come to an end.  On Frozen Pond.
